Unitarian Universalist Action New Hampshire is joining a movement of movements, the new Poor People’s Campaign. The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. initiated the original Poor People’s Campaign fifty years ago. This campaign was broad-based, and confronted the three evils of racism, poverty and militarism. The new Poor People’s Campaign, led in part by Rev. William Barber II, takes up this legacy, while also calling us to reverse the ecological devastation of our time. UU Act

UU Action NH Supports HB 628: Family and Medical Leave Insurance
Unitarian Universalist Action New Hampshire endorses the passage of House Bill 628: Family and Medical Leave Insurance. HB 628 creates a program that would provide a temporary, partial wage replacement to working people who need time off to care for themselves or a family member. The Department of Employment Security would administer the program that is funded by workers’ wages. Through this program, workers would contribute 0.5% of their wages, averaging $5 per week. Phonebank to protect voting rights! Oppose HB 372
Unitarian Universalist Action New Hampshire opposes HB 372, because this bill will make it harder to vote in New Hampshire. Currently in New Hampshire, citizens only need to prove that they live in a domicile in the state in order to register to vote. HB 372 would only permit those who can prove that they reside in the state to vote.
