UU Action NH Updates

2026 NH Legislative Session

The 2026 session of the NH Legislature convenes on January 7, 2026. UU Action NH would like you to be aware of available resources in the state that will help you know what bills are being taken up so that you can contact your state senator or state representatives.

If you are unsure who your senator is, go to this link, https://gc.nh.gov/senate/members/wml.aspx

If you are unsure who your representatives are, go to this link, https://gc.nh.gov/house/members/

American Friends Service Committee in New Hampshire tracks bills and provides a weekly run-down through their State House Watch. You can subscribe to the weekly review of bills at this link, https://secure.afsc.org/-NgRKULTlkCRudvpnbIwAg2

The NH Network for Environment, Energy, and Climate follows bills that are focused on the environment, energy, and climate in New Hampshire. You can find a list of these bills at this link https://www.newhampshirenetwork.org/NH-bills

The NH Network has an excellent page which reviews the following in detail:

  • How to Submit Your Position on a Bill Online

  • How to Testify on a Bill in Person at a Committee Hearing

  • How to Email Written Testimony on a Bill to Committee Members

  • And more.

603 Equality tracks bills that are focused on LGBTQ+ rights. You can find an updated list of these bills at this link, https://603equality.org/nh-policy, and then go to this link https://603equality.org/current-actions for actions that you can take.

New Futures tracks bills at this link https://new-futures.org/current-legislation on the following issues:

  • Children and Families

  • Healthy Aging

  • Public Health and Access to Healthcare

  • Prevention, Treatment and Recovery

There are other state organizations that also follow bills in the NH Senate and Legislature. They are the Kent Street CoalitionSierra Club in NH, and the Granite State Organizing Project. If you subscribe to their emails, you will get information on bills that they are following.

Writing a personal email to a NH senator or NH representative is usually the best way of being heard as a constituent; and writing the email when the bill is in committee is the best time to contact your senator or representative. You can also vote YAY or NAY on a bill when it is in-committee.

For bills that are being taken up by a NH Senate committee and to vote, go to this link, https://gc.nh.gov/remotecommittee/senate.aspx

For bills that are being taken up by a NH House committee and to vote, go to this link, https://gc.nh.gov/house/committees/remotetestimony/

You will need to know the committee that is reviewing the bill and the date the committee meets. You can get this information from the resources mentioned above.

It is important to remember that there are 120 Free Staters in the NH legislature (senators and representatives). Their impact was significant in the 2025 session. UU Action NH held a Zoom event in September 2025 on the Free State Project in NH. A video of that event is available to UU churches. Some UU churches have already shown it to their congregations. If you would like the UU Action event video, please email us at info@uuactionnh.org.

If you would like to know if your NH senator or representative is a Free Stater or votes with the Free Staters, go to the Granite State Matters, https://granitestatematters.org/

You will find information on the Free State Project and a Flyer with Liberty Alliance Members that will inform you if your senator or representative votes with the Free Staters. The flyer includes a rating of how often they vote with the Free Staters.

Climate NH on November 15, 2025 was a success! Enjoy the pictures!

Thank you to the organizations that tabled at UU Action’s 2025 Annual Meeting and thank you to those that attended!
